Behaviour Management

Behaviour management is a tricky one in the classroom. What works for one child, amy not work for another.

Unfortunately a lot of teaching time often gets switched to behavior management when there is a difficult child in the class.

We have made a few different monitoring systems for our website, the most popular being a large peg chart system where students move their pegs up or down, depending on the behaviours they are displaying.

One has children trying to stay in the ‘Cool Zone’ for the whole day, only moving their peg for consequences. The other has children being able to move their pegs if they have displayed positive behaviours. Both also come as individualised mini charts for desk use.

Sight Words!

I know we’ve posted about the importance of sight words before, but now we have a full sight word program ready to download and print out!

It has flash cards, home programs, assessments, bingo, games, worksheets, displays, ideas and IWB resources for each grade.

We’ve made up our own lists, but they contain the first 30 sight words and are similar to the magic 100. The words are the most commonly found words in texts, as well as some important nouns that students will come across and need for their writing.
